8-year-old girl bags gold medal in Science Olympiad

Anantnag: A class 3rd student from Bijbehara town of Anantnag district has been declared the topper in the State level Science Olympiad, organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).

8-year-old Areeba Sereen, daughter of Advocate Muhammad Iqbal Bader will receive a Zonal Gold Medal, a cash prize of 5 thousand rupees and a merit certificate by the SOF.

The SOF-18th National Science Olympiad, second level examination had been held in February earlier this year and the results were declared today.

Sereen with Roll Number, JK253803301, in the exam has emerged topper scoring 32 marks out of 40.

Areeba is a 3rd standard student of The Educator, Smart Kids Innovative Play School.

School principal, Sadia Malik, said Areeba has been making their school proud time and again.

“She appeared in the First Level exam of the SOF last year and bagged 16th position overall,” Malik said, adding that the girl will be duly rewarded by the school administration as well.

Parents of the girl said they were proud of her.

“The credit goes to school and her teachers, however for their hard work and dedication towards making our children better students,” Jan said. (Rising Kashmir)
