HYDERABAD: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday termed the terrorist attack on the air force base Pathankot as an “embarrassment for the country”.

Owaisi, who represents Hyderabad in the Lok Sabha, while condemning the attack, said that on the one hand Home minister Rajnath Singh had announced the end of operations, but on the other, security forces were still engaging the terrorists. This, at a time when “specific intelligence” was available, he said.

“The Prime Minister (PM) should sit with Manmohan Singh because such unfortunate incidents happened during his tenure,” he said. When asked whether India should cease taking to Pakistan on account of the attacks, Owaisi said, “I feel we should have good relations with Pakistan to ensure activities like this stop. It is for the government to decide. I feel we should have good relations with all neighbours.” He also sought to know “what happened” during the recent talks the PM had with the PM of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. Courtesy: timesofindia
