Church in Chhattisgarh vandalised, female worshippers’ clothes torn allegedly by Bajrang Dal goons

A church in Khamardih area of Raipur in Chhattisgarh was vandalised and worshippers attacked allegedly by Bajrang Dal goons.

Arun Pannalal, President, Chhattisgarh Christian Forum told ANI that people from Bajrang Dal came, got inside church  and started vandalising.

Pannalal said, “They were ripping off women’s clothes and threw a 2-year-old boy on ground. Attackers were chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and were making allegations of religious conversion.”

Several people have been left injured in this attack.

Chhattisgarh is ruled by the BJP and the chief minister Raman Singh has not made any comments.

Police have detained the attackers, but this is not the first time that Christian devotees have been attacked by right-wing groups.

According to reports, there have been four attacks on churchgoers in the BJP-ruled state by right-wing groups in the last five weeks. (jantakareporter)
